Workshop Description:

Submitting to literary journals and magazines can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be—a little research and a plan can make a big difference on the road to publication. This workshop will give you the tools, strategies and etiquette you'll need to discover the best homes for your work, craft cover letters, keep track of submissions, build relationships with literary magazine editors, and more. A handout packed with links, resources, and submission tips from current literary magazine and journal editors will be provided.

This class meets Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm

Cost: $45 General Admission, $40 for current FWR Co-Working members. Partial need-based scholarships are available for this workshop.

Annie Frazier is a freelance editor, social media manager, and author’s assistant. She also currently serves as Social Media Editor for Pithead Chapel Literary Journal, and as a fiction reader for Longleaf Review. She earned an MFA in fiction from Spalding University in Louisville, KY, where she served as Social Media Coordinator for the program and as a student editor for The Louisville Review. Annie's fiction and poetry have appeared in Paper DartsHypertrophic LiteraryLongleaf ReviewStill: The JournalNorth Carolina Literary ReviewCHEAP POP, and elsewhere. Her work has also been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Best Small Fictions, and Best of the Net, and a story of hers was named a fiction finalist for Best of the Net 2018. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: If we have to cancel class due to inclement weather, we will make our best efforts to notify you by email at least 2 hours before the scheduled start time and will schedule a make up date.

REFUND POLICY: The Flatiron Writers Room reserves the right to cancel this workshop if not enough people sign up, in which case you will receive a full refund. You may request a refund up until one week before the class starts via Eventbrite or email to flatironwritersroom[at]gmail.com for a full tuition refund (Eventbrite will not refund its fees). After that date, no refunds will be made. We do not give credit for future classes/events in lieu of refunds under this policy.
